In challenging economic times libraries are often one of the first institutions hit by shrinking budgets. But when the economy experiences an upswing, these same libraries rarely enjoy a boost in their financing. Librarians are having to perform more work with less resources. This inevitably has an impact on the quality of service libraries are able to give to their communities. So, do communities value their libraries? According to the Pew Internet & American Life Project the answer is an overwhelming yes!
